Leaking Valve

We noticed that the meter readings were higher than anticipated.  By observing the meter for a 6 hour period, Wateraware was able to detect a small leak ( ½ gallon per minute).  Working with the Landscape Maintenance Contractor, we shut off the Water Supply for 8 weeks during the rainy season.  When the ground dried out, the water was then turned on and the LMC found the leaking valve in 2 days.   This awareness and action saved the owner $20/ day in lost water, almost $900 that would have gone undetected if  the meters were not closely monitored.

Leak Detection: Wateraware trained the owner in the Wateraware system of flow rate measurement and demonstrated its process of deduction.  In so doing, Wateraware was able to find a broken pipe in a lawn valve that was undetected.  The next week the owner found 3 more leaks using the same methods.
In subsequent training Wateraware demonstrated the analytic process used to determine which sprinkler heads are redundant.  The owner then capped unneeded irrigation heads. The result has been a 34% reduction in water use and a well trained and observant owner.
