Water Audit
A Large Industrial Park
A customer with a 7 acre Industrial Park that was 80% Turf called for a Water Audit. After a 3 day study We delivered a report that included the following:
- Main Line water leaks that had cost the owner almost $15,000 in wasted water in the last 6 months.
- Landscape Water Budget (PDF) that showed the owner that the current irrigation practices were using almost 300% of ETo. We estimated that the Wateraware Process could have saved them $50,000 without retrofits or upgrades.
A small shopping center (15,000 ft.)
A new shopping center with the highest quality landscape design and irrigation, including a Weather Based Smart Controller. The owner was not happy with how the health of the site, so they contacted Wateraware to address the issue.
We found that:
- Water Consumption for the last two years had been at 170% of budget.
- The plant health was very poor. A bed of Roses was completely dry while some native plants were drowning in excess water.
A Residential English Garden
Despite a great deal of care and effort on the owner’s part, his front lawn had chronic dry and wet spots right next to each other. Wateraware found the following:
- The site was running at 130% of budget.
- The system was poorly designed, capping a few heads and changing the rest to MP Rotators would improve the health of the landscape and drastically reduce the water consumption.
