Project definition: The California State Landscape Contractors’ Association wanted to improve the water conservation performance of its members and market the results throughout California.
Project Execution: Beginning in 2006, the Resource Management committee met with water agencies and defined the metrics for
demonstrating improved water management, designed training for the managers, and built a website to hold data generated throughout the state by water managers that could be analyzed, and compared for water efficiency.
Project Results: CLCAengine.com was developed. CLCAengine.com is a website operated by the California Landscape Contractors’ association that allows anyone with a California zipcode to enroll a site, receive a site specific water budget, track water meter readings and receive a report on water conservation efficiency. Thousands of sites are active.
